After battling infertility for 10 years with Poly cystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS, today's guest delivered her baby at 27 weeks, spent 6 months in the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and lost her baby. Lianne Totty, went on to have another baby at 25 weeks who also spent time in the NICU and is now thriving. Her experience led her to writing her children's book “Baby went to Heaven” to help explain infant loss to children when her god daughter asked her where the baby was and she didn’t know what to tell her. In this episode she takes us back to being diagnosed with PCOS, getting weight loss surgery, NICU experience, and PTSD from birth experiences. We discuss about feeling like your body has failed you and that you are being punished by not being able to bring a baby home.⠀

This episode is for you to listen to if you have experienced a long road to parenthood and want to hear hope and resilience on this journey.⠀

I preordered this book from the writers direct site. It has beautiful pictures and simple enough to read to young children for situations hard to explain to them. <3

The author is a personal friend of mine and I applaud her for her courage in sharing her story and finding a way for others to share theirs. This is definitely not an easy thing to go through or explain to little ones. It's a must for parents who are struggling with this very issue.

I absolutely love this book! I don’t have kids of my own but I know of many families who’ve experienced loss. This is the perfect book for those families. The loss of a child is probably one of the hardest things a couple can go through. This book helps you come to grip with that loss. It’s also perfect to help explain the loss to a sibling.
